Penwith, the most westerly part of Cornwall, is a magnificent headland often pounded by the ocean waves. Its bleak beauty derives from its granite foundation, the wind and its small granite churches. There is a magnificent view of the coast from Cape Cornwall. The attractive Sennen Cove is nearby.
