Through a fine 18C wrought iron gateway and front door, above which stands the stone-carved coat of arms of Charles Mompesson (who built the house in 1701), is a well-furnished interior set against Baroque plasterwork with a masterly oak staircase built in 1740. Also of note is a fine collection of English drinking glasses dating from 1700: 370 different types of glass are displayed in period cabinets in the Dining Room and Small Drawing Room.
