Offering large-scale mountain scenery that is virtually unique in Britain, the Cairngorms are part of the range separating the centre and north of Scotland. In 2004 a national park was created running from Braemar to the Spey Valley, a wild landscape providing all manner of outdoor activities: walking, cycling, winter sports, golf, fishing… From the 1 245m peak of Cairn Gorm (accessible by funicular) visitors can enjoy one of the region’s finest views.
