Cathedral : Michelin's recommendations

David I established a bishopric in this Celtic town in the middle of the 12C. Although the church w as built in the 13C (west entrance), it has been modified on several occasions since. The square tower dates from the 13-15C. Inside are two ancient sculpted stones, both excellent examples of Pictish art. The incurved tombstone probably dates back to the 11C. The stained-glass windows are the work of modern masters such as Douglas Strachan, Herbert Hendrie, Gordon Webster and William Wilson.
