Castletown Travel guide
Castletown : Michelin's recommendations
London’s famous Strand is paved with Caithness stone, all the way from the little port of Castletown. Its quarries prospered in the 19C and early 20C, but were subsequently rendered obsolete by the use of concrete blocks. The stone can be seen in buildings all around the village (a windmill tower, a dam, the quarrymen's houses).
