Crinan
: Michelin's recommendations
This very beautiful village is at the west end of the Crinan Canal, which links the Sound of Jura to Loch Fyne. The canal with its 15 locks allows boats to avoid having to skirt the long Kintyre Peninsula; its yachts and other boats provide a very colourful sight. Crinan is located in Knapdale, a region dotted with deep lochs. Some of the ridges are over 500m high. Knapdale constitutes the northern part of the long Kintyre Peninsula.
