Cathedral : Michelin's recommendations

In the early 13C, the Archbishop of Caithness, Gilbert De Moravia (1222-1245), chose Dornoch as the episcopal seat and decided to build a cathedral on a site occupied by a Celtic community since the 6C. The rather heavy-looking building is dominated by a square tower and broach spire. Although the interior is of modest proportions, it exudes an atmosphere of dignity that enhances the original 13C stonework.
