      Pros

We had the Sunday Lunch. My starter was a chicken terrine layered with baby leeks, with a pea vinaigrette. My dessert was spiced wafer-thin pineapple rings with a star anise sorbet and spun sugar. Both were delicious, beautifully-presented and exhibited a high degree of skill. My main (roast beef with the usual etceteras) was attractively presented with good flavours and a tasty sauce. Service, though a little rough and ready, was attentive and prompt.

      Cons

The restaurant doesn't seem to have a clear goal. Are they aiming for fine dining, or just local produce and good value? Elements of the menus point in both directions, as do the very plain pub-type tables and fine linen napkins, etc. The house wine was expensive at £7 for a large glass, but they have to make money somehow!

      Pros

Fabulous from start to finish. Excellent service with good choice menu. Only one veggie choice though the staff were happy to accommodate

      Cons

      Small print on the menu.
