This 46-gun frigate was commissioned by the Royal Navy in 1824, 19 years after the Battle of Trafalgar. Today visitors may explore the Captain's Quarters and the main gundeck. The gunners ate and slept on the gundeck in order to be ever ready in the event of an attack. The deck above has the "Seats of Easement". On the quarter deck were the 32 pounder Carronades, nicknamed "smashers".
