Edinburgh Castle Recommended Recommended : Michelin's recommendations

Often besieged and demolished, the citadel became a royal residence in the 11th C. and was used as a military garrison. In addition to the esplanade used for the Military Tattoo (Edinburgh International festival) and the fortifications that you can visit to enjoy a superb view of Princes Street, you must see the Scottish crown jewels, the Honours of Scotland, in Crown Hall which were rediscovered by Walter Scott in 1818. St Margaret chapel (12 C.) is Edinburgh's oldest edifice.
