The main street of this residential village (late 17C-early 18C) runs down from the church to the market cross, then turns at a right angle to follow the magnificent lime tree-lined alley leading up to Yester House (private), former residence of the Hays of Tweeddale. The T-plan church (1710) has a laird's loft. Note the carved pulpit (17C) and baptismal console.
