Isle of Whithorn : Michelin's recommendations
This is a very popular boating centre, whose village is known for the ruined St Ninian’s Chapel standing on the rocky shore 5min walk from the pier, in bygone days believed to have been the site of the Candida Casa (the original church founded by St Ninian). Surrounded by a wall, the 13C chapel is possibly the site where St Ninian landed, or may have been built to receive pilgrims arriving by sea.
