Castle and Jail : Michelin's recommendations

The prison with its strict reforming ethic, built in 1823 on the side of the original castle, was considered one of the most modern jails of its day. It centred around the governor's block which overlooked the three centrally-heated cell blocks, linked to it by first-floor gangways. There are exhibits illustrating Jedburgh's local and industrial history.
