Kyle of Lochalsh : Michelin's recommendations

This village was historically the embarkation point for the Isle of Skye ferry, and is now linked to that island by a bridge. It is also very lively in summer. The village developed from the end of the 19C, when the railway line was extended from Strome Ferry. Kyle of Lochalsh is a good base from which to discover Torridon and Applecross to the North or Kintail in the East. The southern areas are more remote.
