The steep mountains towering over Largs are part of the four Scottish regional parks open to the public. This area of 260 sq km, covering woods, valleys and lakes, is home to a wealth of different fauna and offers magnificent views over the Clyde against a backdrop of mountains. Just south of Largs is the Kelburn Castle & Country Centre offering a wide range of family pursuits: walking, horse riding, falconry, a tour of the castle and a "secret forest" discovery trip.
