Owing its economic and historical prominence to its Strategic location between Edinburgh, Glasgow and Stirling in the county of West Lothian, Linlithgow is a quiet and residential town which offers few clues as to its dramatic past, symbolised by the royal palace. It retains its medieval loyout, with long High Street bordered by prosperous residences. Its old canals have been regenerated (cycle paths) to permit enjoyment for all.
