This coastal town has good golfing and long sandy beaches ideal for walking. Not far away to the north is a very ancient underground chamber named Carlungie Souterrain, which dates back to the Iron Age. These underground chambers are a feature of the region and were probably used for food storage next to dwellings. This example consists of a gallery some 40m long, linked to other chambers and passageways.
