This former royal burgh, evoked by Stevenson who spent several childhood summers here, stands on the south shore of the Firth of Forth. It is a popular holiday and golf resort, offering a full set of leisure facilities: vast sandy beaches, golf courses and greens, a famous heated outdoor swimming pool, yachting and sea angling.
