Black Watch Regimental Museum Interesting : Michelin's recommendations

Balhousie castle houses the museum tracing the history of the Regiment founded in the 18C and displays a collection of silver, medals and Colours. The companies were called the The Black Watch because of the 'Watch' they kept on the Highlands and the dark colours of their tartan which contrasted sharply with the red of the Government troops. The Black Watch became a regiment in 1739 and is still in the service of the Crown.
