Peterhead Travel guide
Peterhead : Michelin's recommendations
Peterhead was a fashionable spa town in the 17C. It later became the country's premier whaling port before losing this position to Dundee and becoming a flourishing herring port. Peterhead is now a busy commercial centre, with a harbour serving both fishing and oil supply vessels. The Arbuthnot Museum explains the town's maritime past, with an exhibition on the harbour and its most important vessels.
