This power station is part of the Tummel Valley development. Damming of the river (16.5 m high and 139 m long) has created Loch Faskally and regulates the flow of water. The highlight of the tour is the salmon ladder which enables the fish to swim upstream between April and October to reach their spawning grounds by means of 34 pools and 3 resting areas. Visitors can watch the salmon at close quarters by means of an observation room enclosed in glass.
