Today centre of United College, St Salvator's was founded in 1450 by Bishop James Kennedy. The chapel and tower that stand above the entrance vault make up the façade on North Street and are a fine example of 15C religious gothic architecture. The two wings overlooking the ceremonial courtyard are reconstructions from the last century. The college was restored in the 19 and 20C.
