Skara Brae
: Michelin's recommendations
On the Bay of Skaill’s western shore is a group of seven Stone Age dwellings, which lay buried in the sand for many centuries. This prehistoric village is Northwest Europe’s best-preserved Neolithic settlement and allows visitors to vividly experience everyday life in the Neolithic period. Carbon-14 dating has revealed that the two main constructions date from between 3100 and 2500 BC.
