This winding street has been prettily repaved to bring out the many elegant homes built at a time when trade was flourishing. Some stand in lines of terraces that are reached by steps and ramps. The tolbooth has several public clocks. The little museum offers a view overlooking the Forth. Telescopes and binoculars can be used for observing the details of the bridges and the animal life on the estuary.
