Tobermory
: Michelin's recommendations
The town centre and its port give onto the sheltered anchorage of Tobermory Bay. The harbour is a popular yachting centre and is often full of fishing boats clanking and bobbing on the water. The bay is also famous for being the last resting place of a galleon from Ragusa, once part of the Venitian Empire. The vessel had sailed with the Spanish Armada (1588) and legends about its cargo of treasure remain tantalisingly unsolved.
