Loch Maree epitomises the rugged scenic grandeur of the west coast. The loch is ensconsed between the towering form of Ben Slioch (980m) to the north and the foothills of Beinn Eighe. It is studded with isles, one of which, Isle Maree, was where Saint Maelrubha set up his cell in the 7C.
