The village : Michelin's recommendations

At the time when Burns's father owned Lochlea farm (1777-1784), Tarbolton was a village of silk and muslin weavers. Robert and a few friends founded a society here in 1780, in a building now known as the Bachelors' Club. Upstairs (outside staircase) is the room where members would meet to exchange ideas and argue. Among the souvenirs of Burns are masonic signs.
