One of the eponymous bridges here dates back to medieval times. The village stands at the junction of two ancient tracks across the moor. To the north, on the steep slopes of the West Dart River, is Wistman's Wood consisting of stunted mossy oaks, descendants of the primeval woodland that once covered these uplands. Rough Tor (546m) stands at the centre of the moor, also north of Two Bridges.
