Chartwell : Michelin's recommendations

Residence of Sir Winston Churchill (1874-1965), this restored Tudor house is decorated with his works, including many paintings. It reflects the calm this great man of state lived in. The garden walls were partly built by Churchill himself and there is a splendid view south, towards the valleys.

This is National Trust place, as a member we come here quite often. It had lovely grounds with a sizeable vegetable garden. The flower garden has the beautiful smell of roses. It is very peaceful, plenty of benches to sit down read a book and relax. The house is very elegant and provides with a glimpse into Churchill's life.
