Only the north wing is open to the public; the south and east wings remain the Queen’s private apartments. Remodelling during the reign of George IV employed the Classical style in reception rooms and the Gothic in areas where ceremonial events took place. The apartments boast fine collections of furniture (notably in the king’s study and bedroom or the queen’s ballroom) and works of art (drawing room and king’s dressing room).
