Home of the marquis of Anglesey, this late 18C manor stands on a magnificent site. With its 68ha park and garden overlooking the mounts of Snowdonia, it was given to the National Trust in 1976. In 1936, the artist Rex Whistler was commissioned to decorate the dining room. His fantasy trompe-l'oeil masterpiece includes references to the Pagets and a little self-portrait of the artist in gardener's clothes, sweeping up leaves.
