The natural terrace was arranged in a country style that was in fashion in the 18C to become a long grassy terrace with views over the ruins of Rievaulx Monastery and a part of the Rye. To the south, there is the circular temple in a Tuscan style and to the north, an ionic temple, once used to take refreshments. The service rooms in the basement house an exhibition on the owners of Duncombe Park who ordered the terrace.
