Scotney Castle Garden was laid out in the 19C to form a picturesque landscaped composition. From a bastion near the Victorian stone mansion there is a splendid view of the steep valley sides, luxuriant trees and shrubs, the moated ruin of a medieval castle and the 17C house built into it.
