Stokesay Castle Interesting : Michelin's recommendations

The ceiling of the hall, composed of modelled long beams, was built by Lawrence of Ludlow, a wool merchant who bought this property from the Say family in around 1281. The room on the upper floor contains a fine stone chimney and some spy holes for seeing what was going on in the hall. The decoration, including a Flemish style chimney shelf, date from the 17C.
