Wilton House Recommended Recommended : Michelin's recommendations

In 1544, the first Count of Pembroke, William Herbert, had a residence built on the site of the Benedictine convent of Wilton, victim of Henry VIII's Dissolution. Following generations have left their mark here, calling in Inigo Jones, John Webb and James Wyatt. Wilton boasts splendid furniture, a collection of portraits by Van Dyck, portraits by Rembrandt and gouaches of the Spanish Riding School are so many treasures upon which to feast your eyes in this superb house set against a verdant backdrop.
