Aráchova : Michelin's recommendations
This small mountain town stands on the southern side of Mt Parnassus above the Pleístos ravine. It is a winter resort for skiers, who come to make the most of the excellent facilities and superb pistes. The town contains many fountains and in spring, on St George's Day, the town attracts the people from the country round who come dressed in their traditional costume to take part in the folk dancing. The old men compete in a race in which the winner receives a lamb presented by the shepherds of Parnassus.
