Ásos : Michelin's recommendations

Assos is a fishing village on an enchanting site on the neck of a peninsula which is crowned with a Venetian fortress (16C). The road up offers attractive views of the harbour below. The combination of the sea and the mountain, the scent of the pine trees, the sense of peace emanating from the little port and its shady square surrounded by flower-bedecked houses, make Assos one of the most charming places in Cephalonia. The reconstruction of "Paris Square" after the earthquake in 1953 was financed by the French capital.
