The National Garden is the old garden of Queen Amelia, developed from 1840 by the French gardener Bareaud. You will appreciate its shade and its dense vegetation, its small water features and its banks of flowers, its attractive specimens of palm trees, orange trees, cypress trees and Aleppo pines. It has nearly 500 species of different trees and plants, a botanical museum (a charming neoclassical construction) and a small zoo.
