Corinth
: Michelin's recommendations
The modern town was built in 1858 at the head of the gulf after the old town (Arhéa Kórinthos), which was further inland, was wrecked by an earthquake; it was rebuilt in 1928 after another earthquake. It is both a port and an agricultural market dealing particularly in sultanas, which have been exported since the 14C. The local souvláki (meat kebabs) are particularly good.
