Kritsá is a picturesque village whose white and ochre-coloured houses cling to the mountain slope overlooking the Gulf of Mirambélo. The "authentic" charm of the village has unfortunately made it one of the great local tourist attractions. But don't be put off by your first impressions, and climb up to the deserted alleyways frequented only by those who live there. Local specialities include lace, pottery and honey, and in the summer season traditional folk festivals (enactments of a Cretan wedding) are held.
