Makrinítsa : Michelin's recommendations

Makrinítsa occupies a magnificent site facing Vólos Bay; it is pleasant to stroll through the narrow streets of the village among the splendid old houses, some of which are quite large and have been well preserved. The square is especially attractive with its fountain, plane trees and a tiny 18C church which has external galleries decorated with low-reliefs and beautiful icons within. Higher up is the Church of the Panagía (18C), where Roman and Byzantine inscriptions can be seen on the walls.
