Miliés : Michelin's recommendations

A charming village on the Pelion Peninsula which constantly echoes to the refreshing trickle of an ancient fountain, Miliés is a good place for a stopover. Be sure to sample a tyrópsomo (cheese tart), the local speciality. For those interested in history, the Folk Museum has a collection of photos depicting the tragic massacre perpetrated here by the Nazis in 1943. Also worth a visit is the library with its incredible collection of 3,000 ancient books, and the Church of the Taxiárhes, a beautiful example of the local architecture.
