Archeological Museum : Michelin's recommendations

The fascinating Archeological Museum is in an old Venetian warehouse built in 1713. The first floor, devoted to the Prehistoric period, has some remarkable pieces, including a Mycenaean cuirass from the 15C BC, the oldest one ever found. Also on display are fragments of frescoes from the palaces at Mycenae and Tírintha, as well as a series of feminine votive statues. The upper floor is devoted to more recent ceramics, and contains in particular a bronze helmet and ritual masks.
