Palamedes Fort Recommended Recommended : Michelin's recommendations

The Palamedes Fort (Palamídi) is a powerful complex of eight bastions built on top of a hill 216m above sea level. It dates from the second Venetian occupation (1686-1715). The parapet walk provides magnificent views of Náfplio, the bay, the Argolid plain and the coastline of the Peloponnese. One of the bastions, near the southeast gate, contains a splendid cistern; St Andrew's bastion enclosed a charming courtyard overlooked by the quarters of the governor of the fort and by St Andrew's Chapel.
