Things to see and do - Náxos
Leaving for Greece
Náxos Travel guide
Náxos : Michelin's recommendations
The three main stages of the history of Náxos can be seen immediately on arrival in the harbour of Hóra, its capital: the door of the Temple of Apollo, the Strongilí Portal, recalls the splendours of Ancient Greece - Hóra was particularly flourishing during the Archaic Era (7C-6C BC); the Venetian citadel which dominates the town evokes the Middle Ages, with an abrupt return to modern times with the busy commercial harbour. Other sights worth seeing include the pleasant Platía, the old ducal palace and the Archaeological Museum.
