Párga occupies a unique site, straddling two little bays enclosed by a rocky islet creating the illusion of a lake. Despite the sudden invasion of mass tourism, this old fishing village with its white flower-hung houses has managed to retain its charm. Sheltering under the protection of a Venetian fort, a maze of narrow streets tumbles down the hillside to the harbour, the centre of Párga, from where cars have been banned; the neighbouring bay, which is much quieter, has a pleasant beach.
