The atmosphere is more Oriental in the western part of town, where a few discreet traces of the long Turkish occupation are still visible. Besides the lively stalls evoking the old bazaar, there are fountains in every square and houses with vaulting line the narrow streets. Don't miss Odós Sokratous, which was the main street of the bazaar; the 18C Mustapha Mosque and the Turkish Baths, a luxurious establishment proably dating from the same period; and the Suleiman Mosque, formerly the Church of the Holy Apostles.
