Zante’s beaches are among the finest in the eastern Mediterranean and include Banana beach, a long strip of sand bordered by dunes, rocks and pines, and Gerakas (south coast), fringed by tufa rock. Don’t miss sunset at Cape Keri, the sublime scenery of Shipwreck bay (accessed by boat) and the litte port of Kokinou (east coast), from where boat trips leave to the famous Blue Grotto, in which the sea (thanks to the refraction of light) takes on an amazing almost phosporescent turquoise hue.
