The ruins of Akrokórinthos (Corinth’s acropolis) are among the most impressive anywhere due to their size, the wild grandeur of the site, and the vast panorama. The access ramp from the parking area to the fortress has spectacular views of its three lines of defence and the three gates protecting the citadel on the west. Don’t miss the keep atop the ruins of a Frankish castle, the Peirene Spring and the Temple of Aphrodite with a fine panorama north over the isthmus to Parnassus, east to Attica, and south over the Peleponnese.
