Bibendum
Lying between the Greek world and the Italian peninsula, the jewel of the Ionian islands charms visitors with its green hills carpeted by olive groves, sandy beaches, old town and lovely climate, making it a popular destination all year round. Popularised by the Italian, Austrian and German nobility in the 19C (notably Empress Sissi), Corfu retains its cosmopolitan reputation to this day.

    Pros

Corfu is a real beaty with splendid beaches and lots of historical and cultural sites to visit. It combines the best of both worlds - seaside vacation + cultural tourism. We enjoyed it a lot.

    Cons

Not all beaches are sandy and the sea water is pretty cold, although we have been there is the beginning of August. The island capital - Kerkyra should be visited only late in the evening, otherwise it is extremely hot, although the evening are very croweded by tourists.
